First-Time Opportunity for Public to Play on Venerated Stanford University Golf Course
MENLO PARK, CA - Michael Casey, Managing Director of Rosewood Sand Hill, has announced that the recently opened 123-room hotel, spa and restaurant, located just one mile west of the Stanford University campus, will now offer stay-and-play packages that allow guests access to the acclaimed Stanford University Golf Course. The renowned course had previously been open only to Stanford students, faculty, alumni and their guests.
"We are very pleased that our partnership with Stanford University allows us to offer our guests the special opportunity to play this storied course," said Casey. "As with all Rosewood properties, we strive to create amenities that are not only unique to Rosewood, but reflect a strong and memorable sense of place. For golfers, playing the Stanford University course is about as memorable as it gets."
The Rosewood Sand Hill Stanford Golf Package includes an overnight stay in one of Rosewood Sand Hill's luxurious deluxe accommodations, a $50 breakfast credit at the hotel's elegant restaurant, Madera, two rounds of golf with cart at the Stanford University Golf Course, and a sleeve of Rosewood golf balls. Rates start at $599.
The hotel also offers the Golf & Spa Package, which includes overnight accommodations, a $50 breakfast credit at Madera, a 60-minute Sand Hill Signature Massage at Sense, A Rosewood Spa®, and one round of golf with cart at the Stanford University Golf Course. Rates start at $599. Both packages are subject to change and based on availability. The golf packages must be booked five days prior to arrival and require a 48-hour cancellation notice.
Designed in 1930 by renowned architects William Bell and George Thomas (who also collaborated on such notable courses as the Bel-Air, Riviera and Los Angeles country clubs), the Stanford course is located in the foothills above the campus. The course is consistently rated one of the finest traditional golf courses in the country.
The collegiate training ground of golf luminaries Tiger Woods and Tom Watson, along with former USGA presidents Sandy Tatum and Grant Spaeth, the course is steeped in tradition. Throughout the years, Stanford has hosted many important events, including NCAA regional and final championships, Pac-10 Championships, U.S. Open qualifying, U.S. Junior Amateur qualifying, and a former Senior PGA Tour event, "The Gathering at the Farm."
